Burgess COMMENTARY (added September 2022)
There is a lot of good material in this presentation ... in fact, way too much.

Transitioning to Green has been promoting sustainability for a long time ... probably around 25 years. My grumble about the work of Transitioning to Green is that they seem to be avoid the issue of getting the right balance between profit and society and environment. Almost everything that improves impact on society and the environment has the result of reducing profit ... but that has to be faced. I would argue however, that if the analysis of supply chain, use and post use waste chain is done well, then there will be substantially better decision making.

In this regardd, I would cite the example of coal. It has become fashionable to argue that the problems of pollution and climate change go back to the excessive use of coal, and while that is spmewhat true, it must be set against the benefits that were derived through the use of coal to make steam to run trains and generate electricity and power industry. The world is a better place because of the generation of power from coal. Now we must address the negatives associated with coal and do it at scale and at a fast pace and equitably.

I am taking the liberty of pulling this presentation apart and re-presenting the material in a way that is compatible with the thinking within TVM.

Stay tuned !!!!!!!
