Bob ... I am delighted that you are working with CFOs, and have organized ACCFO. I was a very young CFO in the 1970s, before doing consulting work independently, a lot of it internationally where I learned a lot about poverty, all sorts of economic dysfunction, and the human spirit even in great adversity.

I am working to improve the metrics we use to describe progress and performance starting off with conventional financial management accounting and moving to a complete framework of metrics for profit, people and planet (the Triple Bottom Line) and impact on ALL of the capitals (Social, Environmental and Economic) rather than merely do the numbers of profit and financial capital.

I believe there will be a huge shift to sustainability accounting when the sort of metrics I am working on are available and being used by people who are already at the center of business management ... that is the CFOs!
