Turnover £750,000) • Created and founded an innovative home education business concept, compiled market research and recruited a development team including numeracy experts, video production, telesales teams and direct sales force. • Identified and designed routes to market including product endorsement from schools. • Built and developed a client base of 1500 users. • Successfully exited the business after funding withdrawn with zero creditors and continued to provide on-going support to existing clients. Head of Corporate Finance Acergy September 2004 – July 2007 (2 years 11 months)London, United Kingdom (An offshore seabed to surface engineering and construction company. Turnover $2bn) • Renegotiated Acergy’s main $400m letter of credit facility with large syndicate of banks, whilst the company was in a distressed condition. • Developed and secured relationships with 6 banks, creating competition within the group to secure best financing terms for the company. • Led financing of 2 large construction vessels of approximately $300m each. • Designed competitive auction of investment banks to arrange $500m convertible bond financing; underwritten by Lehman Brothers and UBS, 7 year term, 2.25% interest rate. • Led development of a treasury management system, integrating reporting and management of currency by currency balances across 100 bank accounts worldwide. • Led development a strategic group model, used in all strategic decision making at board level Finance Director Killingholme Power November 2002 – September 2004 (1 year 11 months)London/Humber Estuary Power Station, Turnover £200 m. • Successfully secured bank endorsement to retain highly skilled workforce and continue operation of the station rather than closing, retaining 100 jobs in area of low employment and maximising value of asset for the banks. • Identified opportunity to profitably sell the power station by separating gas contracts (trading independently from power station in commodity markets) from underlying power station, and marketing the two to different purchasers. • Created “can-do” attitude within highly unionised workforce, creating an engaged and stimulated work environment leading to creative solutions to significant problems for a small company in a typically large company utility environment.
