Produced by Alliance for the Earth, Women Witness Congo began as a digital storytelling project dedicated to connecting the global community with the women of Congo, their rising leadership and their compelling visions for change.

Made in partnership with World Pulse, an action-oriented media network powered by women from 190 countries, this video documentary features some of the stories and visions of women who participated in media trainings conducted in Bukavu in April, 2012, and will be included in World Pulse's large-scale action campaign to End Violence Against Women.

Today, a women's movement for peace has been born, led by Neema Namadamu and the Maman Shujaa (Hero Women). Alliance for the Earth is honored to serve as partner and fiscal sponsor in the U.S. for Neema and the Maman Shujaa as they bring forth a New Congo — founded and sustained in peace — that honors the rights of women, the rights of indigenous peoples, the rights of nature and the rights of future generations.
