Careers Open Positions | Benefits & Perks | Interview Process | Culture & Values | Testimonials Job Details Requisition Number 12-0515 Title Incentives Program Associate City San Mateo State CA Description Job Description The Incentives Associate for NSHP manages the incentive structure for all new solar home projects within the three main utility districts in California. Due to the nature of the New Solar Homes Program (NSHP), the Incentives Associate is heavily involved from beginning to end in order to ensure compliance and function as a check and balance for the entire organization. The NSHP Incentive Associate is responsible for processing and securing utility rebates and other incentives for each allocated project. Associates interact daily with a broad audience, including customers, public utility companies, external administering bodies, and internal teams including Sales, Engineers and Project Managers. Ensuring that the rebate is secured requires a significant amount of paperwork, retrieval and coordination of information, relationship management, awareness and tracking of deadlines and milestones, and attention to detail. Responsibilities Document Management • Prepare, review and submit rebate / incentive applications and claims ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines and agreements. • Maintain filing/document management system for electronic and paper documents. Database Maintenance and Monitoring • Daily input of appropriate notes for all incentive related tasks, manage project status updates, and generate necessary reports to complete assignments. • Actively monitor the status of each installation and take appropriate, timely action as it relates to rebate and utility administration. • Define weekly action items for Sales, PM and Engineering on existing jobs to help guide NSHP process flow. • Develop process and documentation to ensure future success and understanding of NSHP program (incl. Visio work flow charts, documentation checklists, standards of procedure, PowerPoint presentations). • Track the paperwork intensive requirements by individual job and determine the necessary documentation needed in order for every project to pass through each stage of rebate reservation (3 stages). Coordination - Phone and email communication with SolarCity colleagues, customers and utilities to ensure: • Proper documentation and information is obtained in a timely manner, and requirements are understood and communicated. • Timely amendments to pending applications. • Healthy and effective work relationships so that they are more willing to facilitate rebate reservation process with SolarCity. • Rebate documentation collection, rebate confirmation, HERS inspections and incentive payments are processed in a timely manner. Problem Solving • Identify common rebate and incentive issues and develop suitable solutions. • Handle incoming inquiries in a timely, efficient and professional manner. Process Improvement • Suggest and participate in process improvements including better software utilization, creating application templates, critical reporting and summarizing information for other departments. Research • Research utility companies’ policies to ensure compliance and accurate tracking of rebate rates and availability. • Researches and understands the full scope of the New Solar Homes Program and California Energy Commission Program details. Requirements • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and switch from one task to another with ease. • Proficient with desktop applications such as Adobe Acrobat Professional, MS Office, and Internet Explorer. Experience with SQL reporting is a bonus. • Ability to identify and solve problems, escalating where necessary. • Experience dealing with the NSHP is a plus. • Ability to work independently, have good follow-through and take direction well. • Have a strong aptitude for working with numbers, spreadsheets and reports. • Ability to understand the technical aspects of solar power as they relate to rebates and incentives. • Possess a calm and positive manner.
