Technology
Graphic Manipulation

Something that GIMP can do

Burgess COMMENTARY
I am a big proponent of the FOSS movement, and have been a user of Open Office (OO) for more than a decade. OO had all the functionality that I needed and I was not having to put up with the issues of Microsoft.

The OO Draw module in its earlier incarnation had a very easy to use feature for cropping images and saving them (via export) into a jpg, png, gif or other graphic format. Sadly this disappeared in later versions of OO and this has now continued in the LibreOffice (LO) suite that now exists.

I have been recommended to try GIMP and it looks as if it will work!

This image has been retrieved from a 'screen shot' of an image on my computer screen.

The image was cropped using the Free non-commercial use GIMP image manipulation software.

I include this image under 'technology' because of the amazing processes that go on in the background to do pretty interesting things in a very simple way.
