Importance of Land
Land is an important part of the foundation of society and the economy.
The laissez faire capitalist market economy of Adam Smith and followers does not account for land in a complete manner as needs to be done. Land can be depleted and in fact it is the depletion of land that has been the source of much of the so-called wealth that people have accumulated to themselves.
Land is part of the 'environment' and a very important part.
Land is where things grow.
Land is where things are located ... a place to put things.
Permaculture is a way to use land so that land gets 'better' with time, rather than being depleted.
Modern intensive agriculture depletes the land, deteriorating the land over time as it is used. The productivity of the land gets maintained by the use of chemical fertiliser.
