This email was sent from Yunus Centre to peterbnyc@gmail.com. Yunus Centre | Mirpur-2, Dhaka, Dhaka, 1216, Bangladesh I was an active friend of Professor Yunus when he was promoting Social Business many years ago !!!!!!!!!!!!!! My agenda then ... as it is now ... is to create and promote a comprehensive and coherent system of management metrics that expands conventional financial accounting to incorporate the social and environmental perspectives. The genius of double entry accounting is that it combines in one framework both progress and performance ... the change in state and the relationship between cost and benefit. One weakness of conventional financial accounting is that it ignores too much ... essentially everything outside its reporting envelope. It is powerful and ubiquitous, but only about profit and uses money as a metric without much clarity about how money value is something of a mirage. Peter Burgess ... TrueValueMetrics.org
