Dear Peter,

September 30th, 2021

As we start fall / autumn we have completed several events in September and have others planned:

On-line events.
  • • September 30th Cryptocurrency for Accountants – Part 3. For the third session David Nickson, ICAEW member and International Tax leader for EY, will present on tax implications. CPE eligible. September 30th at 6pm Eastern / 3pm Pacific: Part 3 – Tax implications Register here
  • • October 21st Beyond Accounting – Climate, Accountants and Technology. 11am Eastern / 8am Pacific / 4pm UK – our next Beyond Accounting event partnering with ICAEW. The event will inform Finance professionals about why our profession needs to advocate and utilize technology to assist in reporting on Climate impact in line with the UN SDGs. This continues the theme of ‘Climate change and Net Zero’ we have followed in previous sessions and adds in how technology can assist – be that focusing on investing in companies with ‘green’ credentials or helping access and report effectively using available data. Speakers are a mix of ICAEW members and guests who are thought leaders in their fields. Our first session runs for about 60 minutes with 3 speakers. There will be a 10-minute networking session. Then the second session runs for about 50 minutes and has 2 speakers. CPE eligible. Free for ICAEW, CA Ireland, ICAS, CA ANZ, SAICA and paid up associates. Register here
  • • November 17/18th or December 8/9th Beyond Accounting – Trust. We are in discussion with CA ANZ about building on the upcoming CAW Trust webinar scheduled for end of October / beginning of November, and running a similar event at timing more suitable for Asia/Pacific and West Coast USA. We are discussing one of the 4 dates listed and will advise once we agree the most practical with potential speakers.
In-person events.
  • • October 22nd - North Florida mixer at 360 Rooftop. St. Pete Beach. Register here
  • • October 22nd at 6pm Pacific – Northern California mixer at Faultline Brewing Company, Sunnyvale. Register here
Insights and webinars.
  • • We are preparing ‘insights’ on 4 webinars that we have run in September. The video recordings for Most Valuable Asset – the Sequel, our Annual General Meeting, Cryptocurrency for Accountants Part 1 and Cryptocurrency for Accountants Part 2 are posted on our website here To access the AGM recording members need to be logged into the website with their user id (email) and password. Insights for Most Valuable Asset 2 is posted and Crypto Part 1 should be later this week. Finally, the IFRS Update recording from September 22nd is also ‘in progress’. We have received the recording and next need to get edited / approved. When ready insights will be posted here
News.
  • • Beyond Accounting – Difference makers’ podcast. Last month we posted podcasts featuring Amir Dossal. This month we added 5 episodes featuring Ronan Dunne, CEO Verizon Consumer Group and ICAEW / Chartered Accountants Ireland member – Listen here
Other.
  • • Website. We are planning to switch over to an updated website next week. Existing links are unchanged and our site will better resemble the CAW site that was itself recently updated. We are taking this opportunity to better architect site navigation, and item groupings.
  • • IQEX promo. We continue to run our Fall IQEX promotion through November 30th, for Chartered Accountants and Canadian CPAs who want to also become US CPAs. The combination of being both a Chartered Accountant and US CPA adds significant value to members who are looking to differentiate themselves in current or future roles. Eligible members can use code iqex800 to get $800 off the list price of $1,795. For more information visit our E-learning site here or contact chiefexecutive@cawnetworkusa.com In addition for Canadian CPAs wishing to participate we will also waive the current CAW Network USA membership fee.
  • • Landing pages. We now have landing pages in place for our 5 funding institutes and CPA Canada. We added the latest for CA ANZ this week.
  • • On-line store. CAW Network USA is pleased to announce we now have an on-line store initially selling polo shorts for men and women (3 colors) and a baseball cap. All featuring our logo. Do note that items are all ethically sourced. We had thought the company we work with only ships in the USA – but it appears that they do ship globally, just with a higher postage cost. Available here
Best regards,

CAW Network USA Executive Team
