Tell Congress: Pass a Wealth Tax now! Petition to Congress: We urge you to pass a Wealth Tax now! Jeff Bezos launched himself into space because he's the richest person in the world and he can afford it. But he also pays little to nothing in US taxes.1 Rather than using his wealth to fight the devastating impacts of climate change, end hunger and homelessness, or even just pay Amazon workers a living wage, Jeff Bezos only wants to enrich himself with a 10-minute ride at the rim of space. If this isn't the most obvious example of why we need a wealth tax on the top 1%, then honestly, we don't know what else is. Sign the petition: Demand Congress pass a wealth tax! Jeff Bezos and other billionaires, like Richard Branson and Elon Musk, created their own ego-stroking space race while the rest of the planet faces unprecedented and historical challenges. Those challenges include a new variant of an already deadly virus that's locked the world into a global pandemic, and weekly weather catastrophes driven by climate change that are literally claiming lives. Billionaires like Jeff Bezos could use their vast wealth to help solve these problems. But they deliberately choose not to. And worse, they aren't paying the taxes they should be! With a wealth tax we can take on the unprecedented power of the billionaires and help solve more problems down on planet Earth.
