Have you made investments in the Impact sector? (E.g. investments that had financial, environmental, and social returns.) If so, please provide examples.
- For the first part of my career I worked in corporate organizations (up to the CFO level) and was very good at improving profit performance. Subsequently as an independent consultant (Burgess Management Associates) I worked on assignments for the World Bank, the UN and others designing, managing and evaluating international development and humanitarian assistance projects. The metrics around corporate profit performance are deep and powerful ... those for social and environmental performance weak and incoherent. I used the concepts of TVM within my own firm ... nos I am working to make the principles more widely available. 3369
Please provide information on capital to be deployed annually in the impact sector (AUM).
- As widely reported there is now rapid growth of 'impact' investing, but it is small compared to the total of investing, AND much of it has good social and environmental impact in name only. TVM has the potential to call out phony impact investment.

- Not sure ... I have many different threads open that are concerned with impact issues as well as conventional financial analysis.
Why would you like to attend this Summit?
- I have been working on building a meaningful network of impact investors, corporate managers, development assistance specialists and humanitarian workers for many years. This is just another step in this process. I have for example over 10,000 Linkedin connections, many of who are part of your speaker community. I quallified as a Chartered Accountant in the UK in 1965 after studying engineering and economics at Cambridge. Fast forward, modern technology is amazing and very very powerful, but understanding of how the world works at this time in history remains primitive. 3423
