My generation of leadership (I graduated in 1961) has gamed the system and in the process done very well for themselves at the expense of society as a whole and the natural world. The greed and foolishness is beyond belief! Social responsibility is not socialism in its pejorative sense. Capitalism and markets are not automatically bad, but hey can be gamed to favor of the powerful and that makes a nonsense of Adam Smith's thinking. I want to see what I call radical accountability so that abuse of the capitalist enterprise system is identified and held to account in a meaningful way. This is probably best done by getting relevant information to customers about products so that they are able to vote (for the product) with their money. Companies pay attention to this behavior more rapidly than anything else!

Almost every large media outlet is biased by corporate interests and billionaires. This is a huge problem. Even so called progressive media like Washington Post and New York Times have a bias towards market solutions which as Greta clearly states, is a fairy tale.

Unfortunately, so-called 'opinion' journalism is now being accepted as Truth - rather than the one-sided, self-interested vitriol it typically represents. First, look at the source and then decide if you should invest any brain cells to continue reading...
To be clear - the Climate Strike is not a joke nor childish socialism. It is an emerging generation rising up to salvage the planet and environment they will inherit. An environment ravaged by those from my generation who were fixated on personal financial gain at the expense of all else.

do they think their money will save them?
are they so caught up in their superiority fantasy that they don't care about reality?
or are they hoping for Judgement Day so they can tally up their toys and be proclaimed Winner?

Of course their money will save them. At least before they die. Future is not their business, they only think about the present and their own comfort. And they run the world...

Sadly that why the struggle must continue. The comments yesterday by the Energy Secretary followed a similar vein. Pathetic

Just to clarify, I do not like the message though did not have to sit down with the shock at seeing it, but like the fact that people can have a look and remind themselves where the struggle has to continue.

Cripes! Have you seen some of the comments following that Telegraph article? I am stunned that people can be so blatantly stupid and so vituperative!
