Environmental Leader TOP 50 2017

Burgess COMMENTARY

Peter Burgess

Environmental Leader 50 2017 Environmental Leader 50At Environmental Leader, we cover commercial and industrial environmental issues, typically focusing on what a “company” is doing concerning environmental, EHS and sustainability management. And while our publication’s purpose is to keep commercial and industrial “environmental leaders” informed, we sometimes neglect to name the specific vice presidents, directors, managers and engineers driving their companies – and the EHS, environmental and sustainability management industry itself – forward. With that in mind, it’s my honor to introduce the 2017 Environmental Leader 50, chosen through many months of curation, nominations and research carried out by Environmental Leader and advisers and industry insiders. Many of these vice presidents and directors will be familiar to you, as they have been prominent in the industry for years. Others have worked diligently behind the scenes; still others are those who are emerging as top-rate, innovative environmental managers and specialists. The list is not the be-all and end-all of individual environmental or sustainability knowledge. But all said, the honorees provide their companies with results that are worthy of recognition. The individuals listed below will be recognized at a celebratory networking reception on June 6 as part of the Environmental Leader Conference at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center. –Paul Nastu Publisher, Business Sector Media Please join me in congratulating all of our distinguished honorees: Emily Adams Sustainability Analyst MetLife Kisa Adkins Environmental and Compliance Senior Program Manager Newell Brands Tom Baker EHS Manager Ashland Lee Ballin Head of Sustainable Business Programs Bloomberg LP Christopher Benjamin Corporate Sustainability Director PG&E Cheri Chastain Sustainability Manager Sierra Nevada Brewing Hugh Cherne Environmental Sustainability Senior Manager Best Buy Brad Clauss North America Manager EHS and Sustainability Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies Larry Deeney Global Environment Senior Technical Leader General Mills Kim DellAquila Sustainability Programs Reporting Manager GE James DeMouy Vice President EHS and Sustainability Bridgestone Kimberly Dennis Environmental Director CEMEX Projjal Dutta Sustainability Initiatives Director Metropolitan Transportation Authority New York Thomas Frost Environmental Director Rexnord John Gallucci EHS Director Hasbro Stefan Gerlicz Sustainability Program Manager Tesla Motors Elysa Hammond Environmental Stewardship Director Clif Bar & Company Cheryl Hasty Senior Environmental Specialist Target Dennis Hu EHS and SSE Director Ball Aerospace Johanna Jobin Global EHS and Sustainability Director Biogen Jason Johantges EHS Director The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company Nancy Kitsos EHS Senior Manager Raytheon Chris Krishna Environmental Director Occidental Chemical Corporation Linda Kurtz Corporate Environmental Manager Wm.
