Expanding Our Global Commitment to Sustainability

Matthew Arnold, Global Head of Sustainable Finance - JPMorgan Chase & Co. 9:01 AM (22 hours ago)

Corporate Responsibility & JPMorgan Chase & Co

Friends,

Today, JPMorgan Chase & Co. announced two new goals to advance environmentally sustainable solutions, while reinforcing our long-standing commitment to environmental and social risk management. This includes sourcing renewable power for 100 percent of our global energy needs by 2020 and facilitating $200 billion in clean financing through 2025 – the largest-ever commitment by a global financial institution.

This announcement builds upon JPMorgan Chase’s leadership and deep commitment to integrating sustainability into our business and operations and complements a recent partnership with Current, powered by GE, to improve energy efficiency at thousands of Chase branches around the country.

All across the world, the firm is providing financing, risk management and advisory services for some of the largest clean financing and strategic transactions in the renewable energy industry. And with global offices and operations equal to about 27 times the square footage of office space at the Empire State Building, we’ve also made great strides in lowering our own energy consumption and cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

Advancing clean, energy-efficient solutions is good for our business, our clients and the communities where we live and work. The goals we announced earlier today will help to further protect the environment, while generating jobs and economic growth.

We look forward to sharing our progress with you in the coming months and to briefing you on specific activities as desired.

Sincerely,

Matthew Arnold Global Head of Sustainable Finance JPMorgan Chase & Co.
