Our Books ... In combination, our three books posit a new and more socially responsible business paradigm

The Legacy of Good Leadership

This book provides a roadmap for listed company leadership teams setting out to construct companies that create real or authentic value for customers; build significant wealth for shareholders; and do both in ways that quite deliberately set out to enhance the wellbeing of employees, the wider community and the environment.

The Legacy of Good Leadership The Choice to Serve or Exploit

The purpose of this book is to provide a deeper philosophical underpinning for the material contained in Book 1 – The Legacy of Good Leadership.

In a very simple sense, the message in this book is that the ends never justify the means. Instead the means qualify the ends. If we go a bit deeper, its underlying objective is to seek to raise management consciousness a notch or two.

Fundamental to any attempt to raise management consciousness is a process of clarification of intent. Is it the intention of an individual business leader, or a company’s leadership team, to serve customers, end consumers and ultimately the wider community? Or is their intention to exploit them? This is perhaps the most fundamental choice that all business leaders must face.

When combined with the destination and the roadmap provided in Book 1, this book places a beacon at the destination that has the potential to illuminate the entire journey – should a leadership team choose to light it.

The Choice to Serve or Exploit

A Path to Social & Economic Equilibrium

In Book 1: The Legacy of Good Leadership, the reader was given a destination and a roadmap.

In Book 2: The Choice to Serve or Exploit, the reader was given the opportunity to illuminate both the journey and the destination by lighting what we refer to as the beacon of noble intent.

The purpose of this third book in the series is to begin to shape the regulatory conditions and mindset required in order to both encourage and sustain nobler, more virtuous and more socially responsible business practices.

This book argues that it will not be possible to sustain a more socially responsible business paradigm if the legal and regulatory system continues to give primacy to: shareholders over other stakeholders; the right of a company to act as it sees fit so long as it is within the law; and the preservation of market efficiency regardless of the social cost.
