SOCAP - Neighborhood Economics Conference

SOCAP ... Neighborhood Economics Conference - November 11-12, Louisville, KY

Burgess COMMENTARY

Peter Burgess

SPECIAL INVITATION from the SOCAP Founders:

Neighborhood Economics Conference - November 11-12, Louisville, KY

We live in precarious times, an era that has led to a widening gap between rich and poor, the left and the right, and a deepening suspicion of institutions. In an age of fragmentation you don’t need more scissors, what you need is glue. Flourishing local neighborhoods can be the glue we need. That’s why SOCAP is partnering with the Parish Collective and the Wild Goose Festival to put on Neighborhood Economics in Louisville KY Nov 12-13.

A steady and robust return to invigorating the neighborhood economy could usher in a new era of abundance, community, and health. Going back home to the neighborhood, we can embody our most deeply held values, shared by faith traditions, of compassion and solidarity with the marginalized.

By bringing together leading thinkers and people making it happen in their local communities, we are hope to learn from each other and find ways to take action together, across an emerging Neighborhood Economics network.
