Clearly I have no expertise in agriculture but wish to help search out who's collaboration knowhow actually creates local jobs and community sustain ability which is the opposite search to what most global corporations (and their government lobbies) have been doing cheers chris macrae isabella wm ‏@globalgrameen how to value millennial goals… - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Tu2Ue18x1DQzbYGccoIoE6LTlHzrAL6jXxYgT_S5E5Q … sharing knowhow how millennials create quarter a billion natural cap jobs in africa ----- Forwarded Message ----- From: Fahim Kader To: Yvonne Kirabo Cc: 'chris.macrae@yahoo.co.uk' ; Elikia M. Would love to help. Here's a quick overview: Grameen Intel Social Business is essentially a software company seeking to contribute to development of the communities around the globe. That may be through ventures in agriculture, healthcare, and/or education. Where agriculture is concerned, we look at the various stages of the crop cycle and address specific issues: seed selection, fertilizer recommendation, pest control, and sales. The most important thing to note is that we are not the agro experts, and this is where 'partners' come in. Consider the picture: If you were to partner us in taking our solutions to Uganda, you would have to, first, provide us with the backend inputs. For instance, for our fertilizer recommendation app (mrittikā), you will have to provide us with the soil parameters for the specific regions/areas in Uganda that you wish to cover, the pertinent crop nutrients, the fertilizer dosages etc. In Bangladesh, the Government agriculture offices provide the required information; much of it is publicly available. So, we will give you the list of inputs required, you will have to collect them from the expert sources and feed us back. Secondly, you will have to select the entrepreneurs (who operate in a business model whereby they use our applications to provide seed selection, fertilizer recommendation, pest control and/or sales recommendation services to farmers in their communities), the farmers, the (agro) experts etc. In addition, you will have to arrange the necessary orientation and training sessions in the local communities, wherein our project team will bring everyone concerned up to speed and train the users. If you want to discuss more, please add me on Skype: fahimkader13. We can schedule a convenient time for both parties. The Ugandan Government is keen on getting the Youth involved in agricultural Initiatives, can you please tell us more about what ‘partnering’ in agricultural initiatives means or entails? We can talk about this if you are available, my direct number +1202-817-7333 Look forward to hearing from you soon. My skype ID is fahimkader13. Great to know that you discussed our work with Sir Fazle Abed and that he was excited. Grameen Intel was formed on the belief of the potential, wonderful avenues we can open up by connecting agriculture, education and healthcare with technology; for the development of communities around the world. As I discussed with you, we are moving ahead one step at a time, and would be interested in aligning our work with that of other institutions (within our current range of expertise). We are partnering other institutions in agricultural initiatives in different countries, and would be looking forward to making impact in Africa. We will be discussing with Tebabu soon enough, you can join us if you want to. We will also get in touch with Ms. Naila and discuss how we can avail each other's support.
