I came to Pennsylvania for the first time in 1960 and was impressed by almost everything I saw. Fast forward a little more than 50 years and I am appalled by the quality of government that now prevails, with conservative Republicans it seems hell-bent on making the government function even more badly than it has over the past 30 years. The political class no longer seems to act in the true interest of the people, but rather works against the people's interest while enabling a huge amount of business and corporate favoritism. It is a sad state of affairs fueled by massive amounts of convenient misinformation.
