Empowering Personal Farming: Maximilian Loessl at TEDxGroningen Published on Dec 6, 2013

Maximilian Loessl is the Founder and CEO of Agrilution. He is currently enrolled as a student of International Food and Agribusiness at HAS University in the Netherlands. Prior to his studies in the Netherlands he gathered experience in the hospitality sector, in renewable energies and at Greenpeace. Ever since reading the book 'The Vertical Farm' by Dr. Dickson Despommier in 2010 he was inspired to spread the knowledge of Vertical Farming around the globe. The reality of hunger on one side and abundance on the other have forced him to search for a 'simple' solution to food production. This resulted in the founding of Agrilution, a startup active in the new field of Vertical Farming.

At TEDxGroningen 2013, he spoke of a technical innovation to bring farming to everyone.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
