Jerry Ashton ... Today, and From This Day Forward, We Are Fighting Back

Burgess COMMENTARY

Peter Burgess

Today, and From This Day Forward, We Are Fighting Back Jerry Ashton Collections/Relationship/Resolution Specialist - Author and Advocate Top Contributor THE DAY WE FIGHT BACK. Today, And From This Day Forward, We Are Fighting Back This WrittenOffAmerica website is proud to be among the thousands of websites today who, in majestic union, declare “NO” to mass surveillance. We’ll go several steps further – “NO” to any surveillance which is illegal and which impinge on personal freedoms. the only interest that Big Brother has is to protect Big Brother. And, you are the threat, and their weapon is unfettered surveillance and intimidation! Every time you protest against an unjust law, against unjust actions, against policies clearly designed to benefit the few and harm the many, you are a threat. As the owner of this website, and in all the other fashions by which I annoy and anger Big Brother, I am honored to be conceived of as a threat. I tweet, I blog, I interview people who the mainstream media will not touch, and I work with Occupy and Activist groups to provide “the other side of the story” and further purposes benefiting the common good. Please join me in this effort. John Alan John Alan Bendall (Hunter) New job?... Problems in GCHQ and NSA et al. 'The Transcription Error Syndrome' - would make for a really bad movie (movie script writers do that too) ... Good petiton, signed. I have no secrets)) -- Funny: Google has to now encrypt more pipes to keep up Kieth's thurst for CPU usage on de-encrypt... use the intel wisely)) Allegedly there was a large lump of data going to US from Europe awhile ago, what dissappeared for a short whilst, then on it went it's merry way again. Probably not WHO. Peter Burgess Peter Burgess Founder/CEO at TrueValueMetrics developing Multi Dimension Impact Accounting I grew up in the UK, born just as the war started. By the end of the war I was understanding something about friends and enemies, and by the time I was 10 years old I was reading all the war books I could find. Fast forward 70 years, I am in the United States and appalled at the apathy of most everyone to the important issues of the day. The mainstream media revels in hyping non-stories while leaving everything that needs a bit of brain to understand and talk about completely out of their programming. Ideas are more powerful than guns. The first amendment more important than the second amendment. But in my view we (that is in this case the USofA) do need a solid surveillance capability, and we need to use it as effectively as we can. We need to know as much as we can about the threats not only to US homeland security, but threats to everyone who is interested in a global society that is free of repression (from either state actors, religious operatives, or independent thugs) . There is no an easy answer. These issues are complex and there are multiple layers. I don't 'like' surveillance, but without it, a world where 'anything goes' is a far worse oucome. There is a horrific amount of apathy and ignorance here in the U.S. And 'waking up is hard to do.' It's even harder when the ones with the noisy bells and whistles and alarms are (talking about mainstream media here) are in the employ of the people who WANT us to stay asleep. Such is the importance of social media. As for controlling the people who are 'protecting' us from the enemies you describe, I am afraid their cure is worse than the disease. Any answers?
