Dear Asad

Time flies when you are having fun.

I promised I would send you a bit of information about my current efforts. They are a continuation of my thinking about metrics that goes back a very long way, but I believe this iteration of the work has addressed many of the issues that have been bothering me.

A short 2 page introduction to Multi Dimension Impact Accounting (MDIA and a longer 32 page pdf describing MDIA can be accessed via this URL:
http://www.truevaluemetrics.org/DBadmin/DBtxt001.php?vv1=txt20080001

This system builds on everything I have learned in my career using concepts pulled from engineering, economics and accountancy and drawing on experience in corporate management and international development. In the dim and distant past I was at the cutting edge of technology but no more. However I do understand something of the awesome power of modern technology if we get the data architecture right.

I see metrics something like MDIA being a critical part of the infrastructure that is needed to support initiatives like the IIX being launched in Singapore by Durreen Shahnaz.

I will also argue that metrics like MDIA will change the way Monitoring and Evaluation is done ... something I have been concerned about since I first started doing development assignments.

Please feel free to give me critical feedback. It may well be needed!

Peter

Thanks Peter,

I will take a look. It may take a while to get back to you but I look forward to learning from your thinking.

Best regards,

Asad
