Former World Economic Forum COO joins World Climate Ltd as Chairman World Climate Ltd

André Schneider, the former Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of the World Economic Forum has joined World Climate Ltd as Chairman.

André Schneider said 'I am very much pleased and honoured to join World Climate Ltd to help with my experience, knowledge, and network to further the engagement of business in combating climate change.'

In line with World Climate Ltd’s 2013 strategy to improve its team and services, Jens Nielsen, CEO, said 'We are delighted to have André as our new Chairman. With his experience and stature, he will help World Climate Ltd deliver a truly differentiated, and solutions-oriented platform to drive change and influence with and for all our stakeholders.'

With André, World Climate Ltd will be able to provide a world-class, thought-leading, and agenda-setting process, from the bottom-up, to complement the international political negotiations on climate change and sustainable development.

ABOUT ANDRE SCHNEIDER: After having been a professional musician in major classical orchestras, André developed his first professional experience at IBM when they asked him to create an IT consulting practice in Geneva for Europe. He then expanded his experience joining the World Economic Forum and was instrumental during his 12 years in creating the world’s leading multi-stakeholder platform and globalizing this concept by expanding it around the world, with a special emphasis on China and the Middle East. Since leaving the World Economic Forum as Chief Operating Officer in 2012, he has established a new consultancy. Andre Schneider Global Advisory Services has been quickly developing projects and thought leadership on sustainable development, such as renewable energy, green growth and competitiveness, smart mobility, sustainable infrastructure and social banking.
