Job Description The position operates within the down-stream solar energy industry and is responsible for supporting various corporate income tax duties that encompasses both corporate and partnership tax activities to ensure the Company’s compliance with multistate tax regulations. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of complex partnership transactions and Subchapter K of the Internal Revenue Code and corporate income taxes. Any exposure to sales and use tax and property tax is also desirable. This position is an integral component of the corporate tax and accounting team and supports the structured finance and legal teams, quarterly and year-end income tax filings, monthly sales and use tax filings, and general operations regarding any ad hoc tax related projects. Responsibilities • Review partnership workpapers, including book to tax trial balances, tax depreciation schedules, partner allocations and capital rollforward schedules, and state apportionment workpapers prepared by an outside CPA firms • Prepare analysis for partnership 704(b), 704(c), and debt allocations • Assist with review of quarterly and year-end income tax provisions • Maintain schedules for federal and state incentive credits, treasury grants, and state rebate income analysis • Correspond with federal and state and local tax authorities to resolve notices and inquiries • Provide corporate oversight over third party service provider that administers leases and power purchase agreements • Research applicability of sales tax exemptions at state and local level • Maintain sales tax rate tables and be responsible for the maintenance of these tables • Maintenance and issuance of resale/exemption certificates • Provide vendors with properly executed exemption certificates where applicable • Ensures real estate and personal property tax periodic payments, information reporting, and other taxing authority requirements • Support any federal and state and local tax audits • Respond to customer and investor related to tax queries • Ensure on-time filing of tax returns and extensions and proper payment of applicable fees and minimum tax payments in all jurisdictions • Work directly with other departments to coordinate gathering of information necessary for compliance and other projects • Assist with various research, planning, and special projects as needed Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance or equivalent business related field • Five to seven years income tax experience, with strong knowledge of partnership Subchapter K issues • Ability to work in a fast pace environment, manage multiple projects and timely completion of assignments • Excellent organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines • CPA/MST a plus • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required • Excellent customer service skills required • Knowledge of Great Plains a plus • Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as function with independent responsibilities • Shows initiative and commitment to self-improvement • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background search Benefits • Paid training with the nation’s leader in solar power and energy efficiency • Great people committed to making the world a better place • Full benefits including health, vision, and dental insurance • 401k plan and stock options • Career path opportunities for top performers • Holiday Parties, Earth Team community group, discount gym membership, and more!
