COMMENTARY
This interview touches on an issue that has been avoided by the mainstream media for a very long time. I have worked in developing countries where the Head of State and the Army seem to collaborate to stay in power. It works very well for both the top politicians and the top military brass.

But the same power control model is essentially in play in the rich developed countries. The military brass and the military equipment supply contractors have an excessive amount of political and economic leverage ... and rarely challenged by anyone.

Once in a while the military oversteps the boundaries ... and this has happened in this case. But nothing has yet been done about the remaining excessive power of the military industrial complex. It will have to be done ... but it will be a battle royal.
