COMMENTARY The #OWS coordinators understand that democracy has been subverted by money, and a modus operandi where money is expected to buy results. This has worked for the 1% for far too long, but it is not going to be allowed to do so any longer. The 1% should be mindful that youthful protesters in Tunisia were able to change the regime ... and the protesters in Egypt were able to change the regime ... and ordinary people have been prepared to fight for their future in Libya and Syria and Yemen against very powerful regimes who have been prepared to turn heavy weaponry against their own citizens. There is anger over economics through much of Europe.
It is about 4 weeks since the #OWS protests started. The movement is growing. Last Saturday a Global Occupy movement was active in about 1,300 centers around the world. 'The World is Watching' and those that want to support the 1% are going to have to do some hard work to justify their position. The era of 'Greed is Good' is coming to an end ... and good riddance. The 99% will do a way better job without the influence of big money in decision making. By now the 1% should be talking about how reform should progress ... but they are not doing this. Austerity and naked capitalism ... together with control of much of the mainstream media ... is not going to solve many problems. Most everyone is in the 99% and big things are going to change very soon.
