FINITE STOCKS OF NATURAL RESOURCES GO TOP
1972 ... Report for the Club of Rome
This report alerted the world to the idea that the modern economy was consuming natural resources at a very rapid rate and there was the possibility that many of the important raw materials for industry would be completely depleted within a relatively short time.
Some of the findings of this report were ridiculed over the years because more and more natural resources were discovered in remote areas of the world in the case of minerals and deeping in the ground and under the sea in the case of fossil fuel reserves.
Nevertheless, this report made it clear that the trajectory for growth was liekly to be unsustainable, and this has become more and more apparent as the years have passed.

Jean-Marc-Jancovici-What-energy-transition-are-the-Germans-up-to-exactly
Jean-Marc Janovici highlights an important issue. While the amount of renewable energy being generated is increasing both in absolute terms and as a percentage of the total, the net result is no decrease in carbon emissions because the absolute amount of carbon dense fossil fuels is noy going down.
